Viña-del-Mar is a popular resort city on the Pacific coast in central Chile with a population of around 500,000. This is part of the «Greater Valparaíso» metropolitan area that founded in 1878. Viña-del-Mar is known as the «Garden City» for its abundance of parks and green spaces, such as the famous Quinta Vergara Park, where the annual International Music Festival is held.
The city attracts tourists with its wide sandy beaches, like Reñaca and Caleta Abarca, as well as its mild climate, with summer temperatures around 20°C. Viña-del-Mar is also renowned for its historical and cultural landmarks, including the old Wulff Castle along the coastline and the Museum of Fine Arts, housed in the Vergara Mansion.
Viña-del-Mar is not only a resort town but also a thriving city with modern shopping centers, casinos and a vibrant dining scene. As well as the city plays an important role in Chile’s wine industry, being located near the famous Casablanca Valley, which is renowned for its white wines.
